Worcester Police responded to a hold-up alarm at the TD Bank at 1127 Main Street just after 1:30 pm Tuesday and found that they had been robbed. Witnesses stated a white male pulled a handgun on a teller and demanded she fill a plastic bag with cash. The suspect then fled the bank.
The suspect matches the description of the person who robbed People's Bank on December 29th, Millbury Credit Union on the 21st, TD Bank on the 16th, and the DCU Federal Credit Union on the 12th.
UPDATE: An arrest has been made in the case. Lance Riendeau of Auburn was taken into custody after WPD detectives tracked him down based on a partial license plate number.
After obtaining the partial plate number, detectives set up surveillance on the suspect's address. They observed a man matching the description exit the residence and drive away in the vehicle. Police attempted to stop the car, but the driver refused to pull over, instead returning to the house. When detectives attempted to take him into custody, he resisted arrest. In addition to the above robberies, he is also being charged with two Bank of America robberies in November, for the banks at 348 Greenwood and 638 Chandler.
