Small plane crashes in Block Island Sound
Gary Geoffroy of BrotherhoodImages.com reports that the pilot of a small plane towing a "Will You Marry Me" banner issued a mayday call before crashing into the waters of Block Island Sound just before 4:00 PM on Monday. A nearby boater saw the crash and radioed the co-ordinates of the downed plane to the Coast Guard. A Coast Guard boat was on patrol nearby, and reached the scene in 15 minutes. The pilot was pulled from the water and transported to Newport Hospital.
